Denying Human Rights Enables Human Trafficking
It is a fact that denying human rights enables human trafficking. We are presently seeing an escalation of denial of basic human rights to certain groups of people. This has always been a recipe for atrocious human rights violations. Human trafficking takes many forms. Sex trafficking is just one of these forms, and is not the most common, although it gets the most attention. Forced labor is the most common form of human trafficking. However, for our conversation, we’ll focus primarily on the sex trade. The reality is that sex is a basic human desire and there will always be a market for sex.
BonePage Supports Sexual Freedom
BonePage.com and BonePage Media stands in support of free speech, civil rights, and sexual liberty. At the same time, we strongly oppose human trafficking or any form of sexual exploitation. We advocate for a world in which everyone can exercise free will and control their own body—but only with the removal of coercive influence.
BonePage Takes A Stand Against Human Trafficking
BonePage.com and BonePage Media stand against human trafficking and sexual exploitation in any form. These atrocities have no place in the adult industry or anywhere else in society. As an adult classifieds service, we are committed to ethical standards. We urge all other adult businesses and service providers to join us in rejecting human trafficking and sexual exploitation. We challenge other adult businesses to publicly post a statement condemning these crimes and to support organizations such as Polaris Project and Freedom Network USA, or any of the many dedicated groups working to eradicate human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Together, we can self-police to ensure that the adult industry remains a space built on consensual interactions.
Marginalized Groups Most At-Risk for Human Trafficking
Traffickers thrive where human rights are not protected. Due to the current political climate, at-risk groups of people are being adversely affected, unable to access legal services, and being deprived of basic rights. This places them in a worse position concerning human trafficking and hate crimes.
Marginalized communities include Black, Indigenous People of Color, Latinx people, and other People of Color, poor people, LGBTQIA+ people, migrants, newcomers, and Indigenous people. When these groups are discriminated against by the society they live in, have limited access to money, and are restricted by the law from making their own decisions, this is when traffickers welcome them with open arms.
Victims of Marginalization Become Targets of Hate Crimes
Systemic marginalization does not end with economic and social powerlessness. They often escalate into acts of violence, including hate crimes. Without rights and social protection, several of these communities have limited recourse. Hate crimes against marginalized groups are rarely reported to the authorities as such. The victims are afraid of being retaliated against, do not trust the police, and are worried about being deported. They feel that society will not stand on their side in the event of such a incident. The result? An oppressive cycle that, together with human trafficking, further expands existing social injustices and divisions.
Support the Organizations Fighting Against Human Trafficking
